Middleham Festival Programme of Events
These ten days of festivities are in celebration of the anniversary of the coronation 
of King Richard the Third, our fantastic racing industry and the beauty of Middleham and its surrounding countryside.....

SATURDAY 28th JUNE

  2pm-5pm Open Gardens Middleham -A variety of fascinating gardens open in and around the town
Admission �2 at the gate.
11am - 4pm
Middleham Quilters Exhibition - Key Centre - admission �1
10am-6pm Coverham Church & Gardens  Flower Festival, Teas & the Gardens of Coverham Abbey

SUNDAY 29th JUNE

 10am-4pm - Nurseryman's Rare & Unusual Plant Fair - Middleham Key Centre
A quality fair for discerning plant hunters -

TUESDAY 1st JULY

   10.30am Tombstone Tour - Middleham Church 
A walk around the churchyard - but not a solemn occasion.  
Our Georgian and Victorian predecessors were an interesting lot, not all respectable !

 2.30pm Town Trail Walk - Peter Hibbard  -  Meet Top Cross
A circular walk through Middleham looking at buildings of different ages and other details of local life.

7.30pm  The Harriers New Orleans Jazz Quintet
The Harriers are based in Northallerton and play a range of Traditional New Orleans Jazz

7.30pm  The Musicians of Wensleydale School - at Middleham Church
At the heart of this performance will be 'Canabile' a small group of singers together with some
of the school's leading instrumentalists. They will perform a wide ranging programme of music from
the 16th to the 20th centuries, from classical through jazz and songs from shows.

  7.30pm  -  Cockerton Band - Middleham Church
Musical Highlight of the Festival.
This Darlington based Brass Band, founded in 1864, 
return after their superb performance last year
Their programme will include well-known show tunes and light classical pieces

10am-12 noon  Coffee Morning - At the Town Hall
Come and enjoy a cup of coffee and take a look at photographs and
memorabilia from Middleham's racing past

 1 pm and 3pm - Middleham Castle - The trial of Richard III with Michael Bennet
Come and judge the King for yourself
Performances last about an hour so bring a chair/rug and hear what he has to say.
